Great line-up of speakers and panelists at the 2010 Aviation & Environment Summit
Following the success of previous Summits, we are pleased to announce that registration is open for the 5th Aviation & Environment Summit that will take place from Thursday 16 to Friday 17 September in Geneva, Switzerland.
The programme is shaping up nicely, and we have a list of impressive speakers and panelists who will be taking part this year. The programme is regularly updated and the Summit brochure (pdf) is now available.
This will be another important year for aviation from an environmental perspective with climate change at the top of the political agenda. The inconclusive outcomes of the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP15) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Copenhagen has left a policy vacuum on aviation. 2010 will therefore be a pivotal year for both international climate change negotiations and aviation, with COP16 taking place in Cancún at the end of the year, preceded by the International Civil Aviation Organization's (ICAO) 37th Assembly in Montreal. This Summit has been deliberately timed to ensure that the aviation industry is engaged and focused on the key challenges within the political context in advance of these two important events.
This year, the Summit will be held at a different location, the President Wilson Hotel on the lakeside in Geneva. We have made block-bookings at a range of hotels in central Geneva within walking distance of the lakeside.
There will be plenty of opportunities for networking with industry representatives and regulators during the two days, including the gala dinner cruise on Thursday 16 September, kindly hosted by IATA, on Lake Geneva.
