Improvements in air traffic management systems and procedures play a vital role in reducing emissions. In this session we will look at how to accelerate and maximise the opportunities from infrastructure efficiencies such as collaborative decision making, Single European Sky, the U.S. NextGen programme and airport design. Importantly, the roles of the different stakeholders - air navigation services providers, governments and airlines - will be examined and we will explore how they can work most effectively together.

Carbon emissions reduction efforts cannot  be made in isolation. Noise, NOx, routes, management, passenger convenience and airline marketing are all impacted, and there are many trade-offs that need to be factored in when undertaking action on climate change. This panel will explore these trade-offs and look at potential solutions.
