It is often said that the aviation industry talks too much to itself. There are many other stakeholders whose interests need to be taken into account by the industry when addressing climate change. This sessions will invite representatives from a broad range of stakeholders to provide their perspectives on the industry's efforts and explore what more can be done.

10.00 PANEL 6: DEVELOPING A GLOBAL FRAMEWORK FOR AVIATION

Scene-setting:  Nancy Young, Vice-President of Environmental Affairs, Air Transport Association of America (ATA)


This panel will address the tough challenge of developing and agreeing a politically acceptable global framework to address aviation emissions. The panel will explore the challenges of implementing measures that take into account the differing needs of states and operators whilst maintaining a level competitive platform. The efforts of ICAO and others to address these issues will be expolored and discussed.
